Incontinence is a common problem among women of all ages. Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is one of the most common causes of uncontrollable urinary leakage. Anything that has damaged or weakened the pelvic muscles and tissues surrounding the bladder or urethra can result in SUI including pregnancy, childbirth, trauma to the area, radiation, obesity, chronic cough, previous surgery, and hormonal changes. Approximately one out of every three women suffers from this condition. This leads many to wear protective pads daily. These symptoms can also occur in conjunction with trouble holding your urine on the way to the bathroom.

Women no longer have to suffer in silence. There are safe, non-invasive procedures available to correct the issue. One such procedure is the TVT Sling system. The TVT procedure is minimally invasive, requires only one small incision in the vagina, is performed on an outpatient basis, allows you to return to normal activities in a short time, causes little or no pain, and is very effective at correcting urinary problems.
The TVT (Tension-Free Vaginal Tape) Sling is a small piece of polypropylene mesh that is placed under the urethra. The sling cradles the urethra, mimicking the normal anatomy and helping to restore normal function and prevent accidental urine leakage. Women are able to resume the activities of daily living without the fear of leakage.
This procedure is not right for every patient. Women who are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant should wait to have the procedure until after they have completed their childbearing. As with any medical condition, always consult with your physician as to the right procedure or treatment options for you.
This may be for you if you suffer from urinary incontinence or experience decreased intimate satisfaction.
